Dean Kindig
Beane and I like our interior defensive linemen to be versatile 1-tech/3-tech guys. Add in "get home" ability with lots of sacks/TFLs to add to constant pressures. Beane's DT archetype seems to be in the 296-320 lb range, and that's Bear. Alexander was active in the 2025 whiteout 2-OT scouted win over PSU with 2 solos and 3 assists. He had a fumble recovery in the Oregon State game, also scouted, and 3 solos/1 assist in the Rutgers game. Alexander has traveled around, previously for the Georgia Bulldogs and the USC Trojans. I expect we'll see at least one DT hear his name called in April 2027.

Missed first half of 2025 scouted game vs FSU due to ejection for targeting, but ended up with 2 solos in the loss. Smith's a powerful defensive lineman with impressive size and speed. A five-star recruit by ESPN.com and On3 along with earning the same rating on the 247Composite and On3 Consensus. The top defensive line prospect and No. 1 player in Alabama while also being tabbed the No. 8 recruit overall by On3. Rivals.com's No. 18 prospect nationally, the No. 2 defensive lineman and top player from the state. No. 11 on the ESPN300 and the No. 2 defensive tackle by the site.
