Jeremiah Hasley

Dean Kindig

4-43 (10.8) vs NCState. Surprising contributor in the Duke offense last year. Hauling in 40 catches for 454 yards and 6 TDs. When Hasley first arrived in Durham for the 2022 season, he committed as a linebacker. Because he practiced on the defensive side of the ball, he worked in the exact same defensive meetings and drills as DeWayne Carter during 2022 and most of the 2023 season. Carter was already an established star and a three-time team captain, serving as a major locker room mentor for younger defensive players like Hasley. Toward the end of the 2023 fall season—their final year together—Hasley transitioned from linebacker to tight end.

Christian Abney

Dean Kindig

1-12 (12.0) got the first down vs #21 USC. At 6'6, 255, he is the heavy inline anchor for Bielema's run game, but keep an eye on his red-zone usage. He's a former highly-productive high school QB who racked up 34 total touchdowns and a State Finals appearance. Lunney Jr. Is weaponizing Abney's 4.56/9 wheels and his QB's spatial awareness to execute play-action delay routes inside the 10. Defenses get stuck in a lose-lose personnel trap trying to account for Abney's size. Low overall volume, but he's primed to be an elite red-zone touchdown specialist. Worth a deep dive before camp kicks off. Amazing athletic traits and fast. And Nice Dad!
